Why start Fado?
Fado, pronounced fah-doo /ˈfɑːduː/, is a lighting and decor company rooted in Indian design. From the vibrant bazaars of Jaipur to the serene workshops of Kerala, Fado draws inspiration from the soul of India's heritage.
Fado's journey began when its founders were decorating their homes in the Bay Area and struggled to find lamps that felt right. Much of what they found was either too plain, without texture or print or came in a very muted color palette.
That gap inspired them to create lamps that make people feel at home.
